Mercedes-AMG GT impresses the world with more than 1,300 hp

Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV: discover the high-performance electric sedan with more than 1,300 hp, advanced technology, and hypercar-level acceleration.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV represents one of the biggest technological transformations ever carried out by Mercedes’ performance division. More than just a new model, it is a milestone that redefines the concept of a high-performance sedan in the electric era, combining extreme power, advanced engineering, and a new type of driving experience.

Historically associated with brutal V8 engines and unmistakable soundtracks, AMG is now fully entering the electric era with the GT 4-Door EV. This model is the first developed entirely on the dedicated AMG.EA platform, created specifically for high-performance electric vehicles — not an adaptation of existing architectures.

This structural change is crucial. It allows for more efficient weight distribution, greater chassis rigidity, and most importantly, the integration of technologies that push performance to a completely new level. The result is a car that not only replaces the combustion-powered model but redefines what is expected from an AMG.

Projected figures place the model firmly in hypercar territory. Equipped with axial-flux electric motors developed using YASA technology, the GT 4-Door EV may exceed 1,300 horsepower in its most extreme versions.

The estimated 0–100 km/h time of under 2.5 seconds places the model among the fastest cars in the world, directly rivaling electric performance vehicles such as the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT RS.

Another highlight is the 800-volt electrical system, which enables ultra-fast charging — potentially reaching levels close to 850 kW under ideal conditions — dramatically reducing charging times.

Design: refined aggression and aerodynamics

Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV Exterior

Visually, the GT 4-Door EV maintains the signature fastback silhouette, with elongated lines and a low stance, while introducing cleaner and more futuristic elements.

Main highlights include:

  • Smoother surfaces for improved aerodynamic efficiency
  • Flush door handles
  • Active aerodynamic elements and rear wings on more extreme versions
  • Futuristic lighting signature

Prototype models also reveal functional air intakes and motorsport-inspired solutions, reinforcing the brand’s performance DNA.

Interior: technology and sporty minimalism

Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV Interior

The interior marks a clear transition toward a highly digital and technology-focused environment. The cabin features multiple integrated displays with a driver-oriented layout and a strong emphasis on customization.

Key elements include:

  • High-resolution digital instrument cluster
  • Large central multimedia display
  • Possible third screen for the passenger
  • Significant reduction of physical buttons
  • Extensive use of premium materials such as carbon fiber and leather

Despite the technological leap, AMG aimed to preserve the sensation of a true sports cockpit, with a low driving position and ergonomics focused on performance.

Driving experience: emotion in the electric era

One of AMG’s biggest challenges has always been preserving driving emotion in an electric vehicle. To achieve this, the GT 4-Door EV incorporates innovative solutions such as sound simulation and tactile feedback designed to replicate characteristics of combustion engines.

In addition, advanced dynamic control systems promise to adjust:

  • Throttle response
  • Torque distribution
  • Cornering behavior

All with millimetric precision thanks to the electronic control of the electric motors.

Market impact

The launch of the GT 4-Door EV places AMG in direct competition with the leading players in the high-performance electric sedan segment. More than simply competing, the model aims to lead by introducing groundbreaking solutions in power, charging capability, and sensory driving experience.

It also symbolizes a strategic shift for Mercedes-Benz, which now sees electric vehicles not merely as a sustainable alternative, but as the new pinnacle of the brand’s performance philosophy.
